Content and Modules

  • An “Introduction to drug and alcohol studies” module that will be taught during an intensive week hosted by the Universidad Miguel Hernandez de Elche – Alicante (Spain).
    18-21 September 2017, mandatory
  • Four mandatory modules (distance learning):
    • Substance use and addiction theories
    • Drug and alcohol policies in Europe
    • Evidence-based practice applied to prevention & treatment
    • Responses to the problem of drug abuse and addiction
  • Three optional modules to choose among:
    • Research methods in drug and alcohol studies
    • Drugs and crime in Europe
    • User perspectives in drug and alcohol treatment
    • Cultural and social aspects of drug and alcohol use
  • An intensive week organized in one of the partner universities.
  • Project work
  • Graduation ceremony at the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Abuse (MCDDA) in Lisbon.

The content modules will be provided in mixed form, in part as a Distance Learning (ODL) and partly during face to face sessions.
